  • How strong is your password?

    To make sure that your computer data, important documents, online accounts, and even your safety deposit box is protected, a strong password is your best defense. Even strong password can be hacked now a days, just imagine if your password is too simple to guess.

    Wondering how? Right now, hackers are using cracking as technique for them to easily access your network. And most of these can be learn over YouTube or you can just simply “Google” it. So to ensure that your password is not weak, these are some tips you can use.

    • Combination of letters, symbols and numbers.
    • Something that is easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess.
    • Choose a long phrase instead of birthdays, anniversary or names.
    • More than 6 characters.
    • Use substitutions for letters such as, “r” for are, “u” for you, “b” for b, “0” for nothing, “2” for to, and for numbers, type the number itself or if allowed, “&” for and.
    • You can also simplify the long phrase you have chosen by using just the first letters of each word. Ex: Don’t Do Unto Others, What You Don’t Want To Do Unto You. (DDUOWYDWTDUY)
    • Don’t use username or “password” for password.
    • Don’t use sequential or repeating numbers as password. Ex: 12345, 00000
    • Don’t write down your password, remember that it should be something you can easily remember.
    • Check your password on Google, it should not be found if it’s unique.
    • You can also use keyboard key or Hotkeys so you can enter long password in just one stroke.

    Remember that there are so many consequences if someone stole your password. They can use it to access your email, bank accounts information, contact lists, or your hard earned money. So remember that whatever it is that is important for you, keep it safe, all the time.
