The man accused of lying about a failed plot to join the U.S. military and team up with insurgents in Iraq was jailed without bail in his first court appearance Tuesday since his arrest last month.
21-year-old Abdel Hameed Shehadeh, from Staten Island, was arrested in Hawaii and brought back to New York to answer the charges that he tried to join the U.S. military at a Times Square recruiting station so he could he could be deployed to Iraq, desert and fight with anti-American insurgency forces – after he had tried unsuccessfully to travel to Pakistan, Jordan and Somalia.
So – should he have been accepted by the military (which he wasnt) he would have not only received training, weapons and quite a few secrets (most of which terrorists probably already know, but its the principle of it). He would possibly have gained the trust of quite a few of his peers, and then betrayed them…
What if they stationed him in Guam?
